Oline K. Rønnekleiv, PhD. Professor of Physiology & Pharmacology, Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon, USA. B.S., Nutritional Sciences, Blindern University, Oslo, Norway. Ph.D., Physiology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas Texas, 1974. The Rønnekleiv Research team investigates the regulation of two functionally connected hypothalamic neuronal groups: The gonadotropin- releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons and Kisspeptin neurons. The main research focus is to understand how estradiol regulates the endogenous conductances, intracellular signaling cascades and gene expression in individual GnRH and Kisspeptin neurons, as well as the interaction between these vital neuronal groups.
