Roberto Coppari
Roberto Coppari received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2002 from the University of Ancona, Italy. As part of his pre- and post-doctoral training he spent 5 years in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, investigating mechanisms by which hypothalamic neurons regulate energy and glucose balance. His independent career began in 2007 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, USA. In 2012 he became an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva, Switzerland. His laboratory investigates the role of metabolic sensing mechanisms in hypothalamic neurons on glucose metabolism in the presence and absence of insulin.
