Waljit Dhillo

Waljit Dhillo is Professor of Endocrinology & Metabolism and Consultant Endocrinologist at Imperial College London. Professor Dhillo’s translational research has investigated the hormone kisspeptin as a potential novel therapy for infertility. Recent evidence suggests that kisspeptin is a key regulator of the reproductive system. Professor Dhillo has carried out the ‘first into man’ studies of kisspeptin. He has shown that kisspeptin potently stimulates reproductive hormone release in human male and female volunteers and in women with infertility. His recent work suggests that kisspeptin could be used a as more physiological trigger for egg maturation in IVF treatment.
