Kiran Soma

Kiran K. Soma is a Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where he is a member of the Departments of Psychology and Zoology, the Graduate Program in Neuroscience, and the Brain Research Centre. His primary research interests are focused on local steroid synthesis in the brain (neurosteroids) and in the immune system (immunosteroids), using both avian and rodent model systems. He earned a B.A. from Stanford University and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and completed post-doctoral training at UCLA. He joined the faculty at UBC in 2004. His lab is currently supported by grants from CIHR, CFI, and NSERC.
